Overview: Sub41 installed a new river intake in 2023. At the commencement of the Quamby pump station rebuild, Tasmanian Irrigation requested the intake pipe between the river and pump well be lowered by approx 900mm to ensure water is available at extremely low river levels. Sub41 working closely with Shorehire and civil contractor Cane Civil managed to lower the pipeline and reinforce the pump well internally without delay to the pump station base scope. A very tricky project working 9m below the top of the pump station wet well and fighting the Meander River which was trying to find its way into the work zone through every possible angle. A very successful and challenging project.
